What a gem! This place sits in the beautiful Grantown-on-Spey and is the perfect location for a cosy stay in the Highlands. David and Beate are most welcoming, offering comfort and relaxation in their B&B. Our room was large and equipped with all the necessary items. I slept peacefully in the super comfy bed throughout our stay. The breakfast was delicious! I tried both the Scottish breakfast and the fresh salmon. Both dishes tasted amazing and I'm now obsessed with Haggis and Black pudding. Beate gave us excellent recommendations for evening meals, places to visit and shop. David's knowledge of whiskey is second to none - I recommend you book a whiskey tour with him and take advantage of his expertise.

We had high hopes for Haus Alba having read their wonderful reviews and I must say it did not disappoint, only excelled! Beate and David were outstanding hosts. Kind, knowledgeable and welcoming, it was a pleasure to spend the morning chatting with them. Our room was beautifully decorated, adorned with matching items which gave the room a 'home away from home' feel. A cosy bed and a wee welcome dram of whiskey - what more can you want? David and Beate, we thank you. Unfortunately we did not have time for David's excellent tours - but who knows? For there will certainly be a next time. The Welshies will return!

You could not ask for more gracious, thoughtful and welcoming hosts! Haus Alba truly stands out as the most hospitable, cozy and conveniently located place to stay in the Highlands. A true Scottish Gem and make sure to book a hike with David. The most outstanding and knowledgeable hiker I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

We are late writing this review and with all the previous glowing reports it may not be necessary. Haus Alba is the definition of a great B and B. Beate was welcoming and really helped us finding places to eat. David was fun to talk to and gave us great advice, especially for our departure day. We would never have found the lookoff point in the park by the quarry without his help. He also convinced us to visit Fort George and that was very worthwhile. Grantham on Spey is an ideal location for exploring the park and going to Culloden and area.

I highly recommend this cosy place to stay. The hosts are very welcoming and generous with their hospitality, knowledge and time. Our room was large and had everything we needed and more; a very comfortable, large bed, well provisioned bathroom with bath and shower, and a welcome tray including a very special whisky dram. Our breakfast was delicious, beautifully cooked and also a lovely selection of yoghurts, skyr and fresh berries and fruit. We will return for sure!

Absolutely wonderful. David and Beate are just wonderful hosts. We originally booked a day trip tour with David for whisky tastings and due to re-scheduling we needed an additional night accommodation and fortunately David and Beate had availability. Both of us couples stayed at their home and they made us feel totally at home. The rooms were very comfortable and most definitely clean. Breakfast was yummy. It is too bad that we didn't have a few more nights! We will most definitely stay with David and Beate again. David has so much knowledge of whisky and we could not ask for a better host to take us around to all the whisky tastings throughout the day. We will be back and look to seeing David and Beate again. My son and I went to Scotland for a weekend experience. It didn't dissapoint. David collected us from the airport and proceeded to host us around the speyside, visiting whisky distilleries throughout the day. His knowledge of the local area and whisky is second to none. We arrived at Haus Alba late afternoon. The house is lovely, clean, spacious and is steeped in Scottish history and character. David and Beate are amazing hosts and nothing is too much. The Scottish breakfast was a great start to our 2nd day prior to being guided by David up onto the snow line in the Cairngorms. This is truly magical and the pictures don't do it justice. That evening we were hosted by David for a whisky tasting of some special single malts, this is a must! My son and I had a fantastic weekend and memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks to David and Beate for being such great hosts. We will be back for sure. Scott & Kyle Henderson

We would recommend staying at Haus Alba to everyone. We were here for 3 nights and David and Beate are great friendly people who do a lovely breakfast. On our last day David took the 4 of us out on a whisky tasting tour plus we visited a few lovely sights along the way. David was really informative about whisky and the area. I'm also grateful to him for looking out for my mom, Lynda Lou who isn't that mobile these days. Beate and David are just wonderful hosts who made sure we all enjoyed our stay.

We were 4 adults , my husband and his parents who stayed with Beate and David for 4 nights. My husband and I booked one night last year, and decided to go back to take in everything the exciting area has to offer, both when it comes to food and whiskey culture, as well as the area's rich history and spectacular nature. We were not disappointed:) We were taken care of so well from the start. I would recommend staying here for a some days. We were able to take part in a full-day whiskey tour with Connor (the son), as well as a fantastic outdoor day, where we hiked in the mountains of the Cairngorms, together with David. My husband is very fond of whiskey, so our last night he got a thorough review of the best whiskey houses in Scotland, with tasting. Beate prepared a delicious breakfast every morning, and made a great meal for us during the whiskey tasting. We enjoyed ourselves very much, both my parents-in-law who are over 70 years old, and my husband and I. This is much more than a Bed and breakfast, but cultural communicators and storytellers of the highest class. We hope you will visit Norway, David and Beate. David was super friendly and welcoming into his home. They had lovely touches in the room such as whiskey to taste which my husband very much enjoyed. The area is lovely with easy access to local amenities. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful - would recommend staying here. Thank you Hayley & David
